As the old saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. To some people a picture is worth more than words. They want to ensure that no one will download the image they’ve worked so hard on and pass it off as their own. Once you post an image online, pretty much anyone can download it and use it to their heart’s content. There is little you can do to stop this from happening. You can get credit for that image though by watermarking it.

The process of embedding content into an image in a way that is difficult to remove is called watermarking. The watermark identifies the owner of the image, mainly you. So if anyone uses one of your watermarked images, everyone will know the images are yours.

Out of all the various tools you can use to watermark your images, I would like to draw attention to Batch Watermark Creator. As the name clearly states, the program allows anyone to add watermarks to a lot of images at once, using various settings.

Installing the program shouldn't be a problem for any user, as the installation process is point and click and completes in a blink of an eye. Windows XP up to Windows 7 can be used for running the program. It takes up about 4 MB of hard disk space and requires little system resources.

The interface of Batch Watermark Creator seems a bit crowded at first due to the large number of features. Spending a few moments with the program will fix this inconvenient. The user just needs to load the desired image or group of images into the program, using either the graphical buttons or the menu. After doing this, one has to launch the template editor, for creating the actual watermark. Batch Watermark Creator includes two demo templates that show what it's capable of.

Watermarks can consist of images or text, in any size and color, which can be positioned anywhere on the image. In the template editor, one of the images imported by the user is used for testing how the watermark will look on the image. The user has a lot of options at his fingertips, as he can change the transparency level of the watermark and so on. Modified images can be saved in the same folder as the original ones or in separate ones. Images that have watermarks applied on them will not overwrite the original files, in case the user wants to revert to them.

Batch Watermark Creator also features a small image editor that allows modifying some image parameters, like the brightness, contrast or sharpness. The number of image files supported by the program is quite large.

Pros

It allows adding watermarks to more images at once by a push of a button. Besides that, the program uses templates for adding watermarks to images, which can be thoroughly customized. Furthermore, the list of supported image formats is quite large.

Cons

The template editor seems a bit difficult to use for a first-time user. Batch Watermark Creator is a complete software for adding watermarks to several images at once.
